Why Movement Matters for Gen Xers
As we hit midlife, our bodies need movement more than ever. It’s not just about staying in shape; it’s about staying connected to our vitality and purpose. Movement:
Energizes our bodies to tackle the day.
Strengthens our muscles and bones to keep us feeling agile.
Elevates our mood by releasing those feel-good endorphins.
Empowers us to age with awesomeness, not just acceptance.
This Week’s WOW Workout
To help you tap into your fountain of youth, we’ve designed a quick and effective Workout Wednesday (WOW) routine that you can do anywhere. This week’s workout is a full-body burner that’s perfect for all fitness levels.
The WOW Routine
Round One: Perform each move for 60 seconds.
Round Two: Perform each move for 30 seconds.
Rest: Take 30 seconds between each move.
Inchworms
Walk your hands out to a high plank, add an optional push-up, then walk back to standing.
Focus on engaging your core and moving steadily.
Skaters
Leap side to side, mimicking a skating motion.
Land softly and balance briefly on each leg.
Hay Balers
Start in a squat, pivot, and “scoop” diagonally across your body like lifting and tossing hay.
Switch sides halfway through.
Elbow Plank Rockers
Hold a plank on your elbows and rock forward and back.
Keep your hips level and core tight.
